XbN - Official XbN Tourney Rules & Directives Revised 3-30-2002 - Time Format

Directive 1 - Rules of Engagement
10 Minute Ruling:
If all players commit to playing the match for a period of longer than 10 minutes under lag conditions then all players are considered committed to finishing the match. At any time after 10 minutes a player quits under any conditions he forfeits the match to the opposing team unless a teammate(s) during team play decide to stay and finish the match. At any time during the first 10 minutes of each match every player has the option if quitting the match for lag or slow play conditions only and has the option of rescheduling the match at a time agreed upon by all players, or forfeiting the match alltogether. Under extreme circumstances when comminication is lost during gameplay all teams must re-schedule the match to complete. Scores during incomplete matches are void.

Substitutions
At no time during Tournament play will there be any teammate/player substitutions due to any reason unless that substitute is listed on enrty form.

Directive 3 - Tournament Structure
Team Match Play
During tournaments it has been decided that the final round, in any type of tournament regardless of round or number of people playing, will be a best of three match elimination to help even the field as far as lag/ping issues are concerned. In special cases or if tournament staff decides there will be two (2) Battles per match and the team with the highest score at the end of the 2 battles will makup the final score for that match and for the win. Each team in that particular match will host one battle and each team is responsible for posting to the tourney statician the scores of each battle via Email (Stratafox - xboxrox2000@hotmail.com and to Halo Teacher - ecs1b@hotmail.com for confirmation purposes) to confirm the final outcome of each match. If it is decided to schedule tourney as 2 battle matches, then the final match will 2 matches as well with the team having the highest final as winner

Directive 4 - Tournament Structure
Code of Conduct
At no time shall any XbN Tournament registered entrant publish, which includes email, personal messaging, chat and instant messaging, any libelous, profane or derougatory remarks about other individuals, within the tournament structure and or the tournament itself. If there are disputes regarding tournament related issues the tournament director will act as moderator and the tournament directors decision will become final. Each person(s) involved will get the opportunity to voice any concerns or issue in an open forum and then all facts taken into account a final decision will be rendered.

Challenges and Alloted Times
All challenges are considered open invitations to participate in online gaming for leagues, ladder events, tournaments and other private and public events.

Members and memebr clans who have expressed interest in Events and are placed in brackets for competition are at least required to contact opponent clan or member of the event entered into, to communicate time and date of play or forfiet if team decides it cant play for any reason. This is needed to guarentee a fair and worthwhile contest for the member clans. An Xbn Member or Clan that fails three (3) times to comminicate with opponent or XbN Admin during the competition will be removed from that competition. Any time a member or clan does not show up or communicate with opposing team on a regular basis will be removed from the XbN membership and not placed in any adiitional or future events. All removals are at the sole dicsrection of the XBN Admin and cannot be challenged although after review a team that has been removed from the General Membership can re-register for these events and the XbN clan Membership. A vote will be take n from all of the clans and members to allow re-entry.

XbN Ranking/Ladder Formats - Main Information Page - Applies to all events as of 5-1-2K2
  • XbN Rank and Ladder Contests are events that are open to all Registered XbN Clan Members. To register for XbN Membership and be eligible to compete you must first get player accounts for all of you participating clan members on the XbN/WgA League Site All score tracking and advancement is determined by the scores entered into this system. It is automated and foolproof and provides the necessary statistical data to make the whole program work. This system is designed also to make the scheduling of matches easy and provides Individual Player maintenance as well as Clan Information and Ranking.
  • Rank and Ladder contests are (Class XbN RL# MLE and XbN RL # MLW) 16 Clans/Teams Max.
    Ranking and Ladder contests are split into two divisions for match play. Eastern Division of 8 Teams and a Western Division of 8 teams - with Current GraphicaL Ladder being displayed athttp://www.xboxnow.com/xbnrank.htm and updated every Monday and Thursday based on the data compiled from the MAIN DATABSE. You can also view at any time your current standing in real tim at http://www.xbox-league.com
  • These RL Contests are primarily for the XbN Members but will Open Registration For these events to the General Public on the last week before next months contest start. Prior to Event Start you must register in the proper rooms on the league site and to be eligible to have your banner presented on the xboxnow site, you must fill out Clan Layout form..otherwise your data will be maintained on a data basis only. XbN Members who are not already registered will not be automatically placed into any of the current open event brackets until last day before tournament starts Please bookmark this link for easy access http://www.xboxnow.com/mintourn.htm XbN Members can register for any event at any time
  • RL Contests runs for a period of one month strating on the first day of the month @ 10:00 AM and ending the last day of the month @10:00 AM Final Results for Tourney Finals announced @ 4:30 PM PST. Entered teams can play their matches at any time during this period but must post their scores on the WgA Website to be able to advance up the ladder. Each team must follow the reporting requiremnet. Witholding scores or tampering with scores will lead to disqualification from and XBN Event immediatly. All posted scores are reviewed by XboxNow Tourney staff twice daily to get latest current event data and the Graphical Current Event Status posted every Monday and Thursday @ http://www.xboxnow.com/chqrgmbr.htm
  • RL Contests are played in Rounds/Matches. Each Clan is challenged or can challenge and play two Matches from any or all of the teams/clans listed in your division room. EX XBN RL MLW-Clans. The more you challenge and play, the better the chances are of winning. You must complete at least 2 challenges ( 4 matches) to be eligible for prizes. Maximum nymber of mathes you can play is 28. Each Match consists of two games. Each team hosts one game. Each team must keep score and the loser must enter the final results on the WgA Website by logging in and reporting the score. You can report both matches or just one. You will need to provide who won who lost, and the final score from each game. When the results are submitted, they will be forwarded to the opponent for verification. Upon Verification, the stats are entered automatically into the database and the stats are then immediately available.
  • Any individual using multiple accounts for event/contest play on one title during any one tournament month to elevate individual ranks is disqualified
  • Sabotaging Internet connection between yourself and another player to prevent or force a loss is forbidden
  • Use of cheats, hacks, mods, trainers, etc. are not allowed. Arranging losses or wins with another plplayer is not permitted
  • Any other tournament practice the contest coordination staff deems unfair will be cause for disqualification. Clanmembers may not play a individual tournament counted game against each other.
  • When the rules are violated we will take the following action. Disqualification from current event and future XbN Events

  • Game Type 1 - Score Keeping: Winner gets 2 points for each win - Loser gets 0 points. In the case of a Tie, Each team gets 1 point. Each Clan can score up to four point per match. Ties are rare but do happen. In the case of a tie the final score results narrow down the winner on a Kill to death ratio to determine the winner.

  • Classification: Ranking/Ladder contests will carry the "RL" designation and the MONTH Number on the WgA Website in the League Section. (EX: XbN RL4 MLE - Clans) Just Click on the Tourney Number on the WgA Site you want to enter and then you can add you clan for competition.   • RL EVENTS/CONTESTS can be played on any Tunnel of the Players Choice. There are several new tunnels developing currently and its hard to keep up with it. But listed here are two of the proven favorites although www.xbconnect.com is better for Western Division play as where Game Spy seems to work a little better for the Eastern Division. Its all up to the Entrants to complete the matches at their choosing on the tunnel of their choice as long as it falls in the time restraints of the current event entered. www.xboxconnector.com or www.gamespy.com/arcade
  • Prizes: There can be no substitutions for any prizes offered in these events. All Prizes are determined by sponsorship and donations. Which makes some better than others. Although a prime focus here also is statistic building and organization of large numbers of gamers, prizes are important factors in making a success out of this project. All prizes are listed as they come into XbN Central and distributed to the tournaments in even increments as to make it a fair and as progressive as possible. Winners of each Event claiming prizes must give permission to XboxNow, WgA permission to use Member Name and Clan information for the purpose of reporting, and promoting these events. Please allow 3-6 Weeks for Delivery of Prizes. All addresses must be physical addresses and no P.O. Boxes will be accepted. Consolation prizes will no exceed $10.00 per Event and will be awarded as soon as prize notification is returned to XbN Administration from winning clan. Clan may choose to take Prize money in the form of Discounts at major retailers, or discount coupons.

    Mini Tournament Time Format

    Mini -Tournaments START ON A STURDAY and run for a period of 14 days with results on progress posted on the days as oulined above. . All entered clans or teams in the FIRST ROUND (16 Brackets) must complete their appointed matches by THURSDAY 12:00 MIDNIGHT (6 days) and report on the XbNLeague site to advance to the next round. All Results will be updated @ 10:00 AM PST the next Morning (Fri) to allow the entered teams to make matches from the Current Event Leaderboard and start round two. All entered clans or teams in the SECOND ROUND (8 Brackets) must complete their appointed matches by MONDAY 12:00 MIDNIGHT (4 days), of the following week and report on the XbNLeague site to advance to the next round. All Results will be updated Tuesday @ 10:00 AM, to allow the entered teams to make matches from the Current Event Leaderboard and start Round Three. All entered clans or teams in the SEMI FINALS (4 Brackets) must complete their appointed matches by WEDNESDAY 12:00 MIDNIGHT of the same week and report on the XbNLeague site to advance to the next round. All Results will be updated Thursday @ 10:00 AM to allow the Semi Finalists on the Current Event Leaderboard to arrange play and Schedule Final Event. FINAL EVENT (2 Brackets) must be completed by no later than FRIDAY @ MIDNIGHT of the same week to allow results and statistical data to be gatherd and posted and the the Final Teams Entered into next Event.
